Terms of Service

Effective date: March 2026 Version: 1.0 Applies to: SendRepeat app & sendrepeat.app

Section 1

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SendRepeat application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tobias Fierz ("SendRepeat", "we", "us", "our"), an individual operator based in Switzerland. They apply to your use of the Service regardless of how you access it — via the Android application, the sendrepeat.app web interface, or any future client.

You must be at least 13 years old to use SendRepeat. If you are located in a member state of the European Union or in the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16 years old to use the Service, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By agreeing to these Terms you represent that you meet the applicable minimum age requirement for your jurisdiction. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Section 2

Service Description

SendRepeat is a climbing-specific training and coaching platform. The Service currently comprises the following components:

Route database

The Service integrates route information sourced from OpenBeta, an open-source community climbing route database. This enables you to search for and attach named routes to your ascent logs. Where you contribute public route or location data — such as GPS coordinates for a crag — that information is synced back to OpenBeta server-side, helping improve the shared database for the climbing community. Route data is subject to the accuracy limitations described in Sections 4 and 7.

Send logging

The climber application allows you to record individual ascents, including the route name, grade, grade system (Fontainebleau, YDS, UIAA, etc.), ascent style (redpoint, flash, onsight, attempt, and others), session date, duration, discipline, and notes. Location can be entered as free text or, if you grant device location permission, recorded as precise GPS coordinates. Your complete log history is stored on our servers and accessible across your devices.

Training plans with timer

The Service includes a training plan module that allows you or your coach to create structured training sessions with named exercises, sets, reps, rest periods, and an integrated session timer. Training plans can be assigned to specific calendar dates and marked as completed. Plan completion is tracked and surfaced in coaching dashboards.

Goals and statistics

You may create performance goals — such as a target redpoint grade or onsight level by a given date — and track progress against them over time. The Service generates statistics including session frequency, ascent volume by grade and style, training compliance rates, and recent activity summaries.

Coach web dashboard

A web-based coaching interface is currently in active development. This dashboard will allow coaches to view their connected athletes' activity and compliance data, build and assign training plans, and communicate through the platform. Features described for the coach dashboard that are not yet publicly available are subject to change and are provided for informational purposes only.

Pricing

The climber application is currently available free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers in the future. If we do so, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice to existing users, and any features previously available for free to existing accounts will be grandfathered for a reasonable transition period.

Section 3

Accounts

Authentication

Account creation and authentication are handled by Auth0, a third-party identity platform. You may register using Google Sign-In or an email address and password. We do not store your password — credential management is handled exclusively by Auth0. By creating an account you also agree to Auth0's terms of service and privacy policy as they pertain to their identity management services.

Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep that information up to date. Providing false information — including a false name, email address, or age — is grounds for termination of your account.

One account per person

You may hold one personal account on SendRepeat. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, avoid restrictions, or misrepresent your identity is prohibited. Coaches who are also climbers use a single account with access to both features — no separate coach account is required.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised or accessed without authorisation. You can reach our security team at security@sendrepeat.app. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.

Section 4

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. The following activities are expressly prohibited:

  • Uploading, submitting, or transmitting content that is false, misleading, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, databases, or connected systems
  • Using the Service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or to harass other users
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code of any component of the Service
  • Creating accounts using automated means, bots, or scripts
  • Circumventing or attempting to circumvent rate limits, authentication mechanisms, or other technical controls
  • Uploading or distributing content that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks, or trade secrets
  • Using the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair its functionality or the experience of other users
  • Scraping or systematically extracting data from the Service without our prior written consent
Important notice regarding route information Route information in SendRepeat comes from OpenBeta community data and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Grades, protection ratings, approach descriptions, and condition notes are submitted by volunteers and have not been independently verified. Never rely solely on SendRepeat data for safety-critical climbing decisions. Always verify conditions on the ground with local knowledge and direct observation before committing to any climb.

Section 5

Your Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including ascent logs, session notes, training plan entries, goals, and photos ("Your Content"). These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights in Your Content to us.

Licence grant

By submitting content to the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This licence does not permit us to sell Your Content, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service. The licence terminates when you delete the relevant content or close your account.

Public content and contributed route data

Certain content — specifically route photo markers and location data that you elect to make public — may be visible to other SendRepeat users and may be synced to the OpenBeta route database as described in Section 7. You will be clearly informed before any content is made public.

For personal content (such as photos not associated with a public route), you may make that content private or delete it at any time. For contributed route and location data, you may request removal within 30 days of the original contribution by contacting privacy@sendrepeat.app. After this window, contributed route data is considered a permanent contribution to the shared database — other users and systems may have come to rely on it — and cannot be individually retracted. Your personal association with any contribution remains deletable at any time by closing your account.

Content standards

You are solely responsible for Your Content and the consequences of submitting it. You must not submit content that is illegal, harmful to minors, defamatory, in violation of third-party intellectual property rights, or otherwise prohibited by applicable law. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these standards, with or without notice.

Data portability

You may request an export of Your Content at any time by contacting privacy@sendrepeat.app. We will provide your data in a machine-readable format (JSON) within 14 days of a valid portability request. There is no charge for this service.

Section 6

Coach Terms

Consent-based athlete access

Coaches may only access athlete data through the SendRepeat platform with the explicit, informed consent of the athlete. Athlete connections are initiated and controlled by the athlete at all times. Coaches must not attempt to access athlete data through any means other than the authorised coaching interface. Any attempt to circumvent the consent mechanism — including requesting athlete login credentials — is a material breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate account termination.

Coach responsibility for training plans

Coaches are solely responsible for the safety, appropriateness, and accuracy of any training plans, session assignments, or advice delivered through the Service. SendRepeat provides tools for creating and delivering training content; it does not review, approve, or endorse any specific training plan or coaching methodology. You as a coach represent that you have the knowledge and experience to design programmes appropriate for your athletes' abilities and physical condition.

Professional responsibility

SendRepeat is a software tool, not a source of professional coaching, medical, or athletic advice. The platform does not replace qualified instruction, in-person coaching, or sound safety judgement. Coaches who use SendRepeat remain fully responsible for their professional conduct, and their use of the Service does not confer any credential, certification, or endorsement from SendRepeat.

Public plan visibility

Coaches may choose to publish training plans publicly within the platform, making them available for other users to view or adopt. By publishing a plan publicly, you acknowledge that other users may access and use that plan for their own training. You retain ownership of your plan content but grant other users a personal, non-commercial licence to use the plan for their individual training purposes. You may set a plan back to private at any time, which removes it from public discovery, though it does not revoke access for users who have already adopted the plan.

Section 7

Third-Party Data (OpenBeta)

Route data displayed within SendRepeat is sourced from OpenBeta, an independent open-source project that aggregates community-contributed climbing route information. SendRepeat is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenBeta. We gratefully acknowledge OpenBeta's contribution to the open climbing data ecosystem.

The relationship with OpenBeta is bidirectional: we read route data from OpenBeta to power route search and logging, and where users contribute public route or location data — such as GPS coordinates for crags or route photos — we sync those contributions back to OpenBeta server-side. This sync happens in the background; your device does not make direct requests to OpenBeta. Contributions are governed by the terms described in Section 5.

OpenBeta data is provided "as is" and subject to the OpenBeta licence terms. This data is contributed by community volunteers and has not been professionally verified by SendRepeat or OpenBeta. In particular:

  • Grade ratings may vary from local consensus or reflect the opinion of a single contributor
  • Protection ratings (sport, trad, mixed) may be absent, inaccurate, or based on outdated bolt/gear conditions
  • Approach descriptions and location coordinates may be imprecise or based on conditions that have since changed
  • Route names, length, and sector information may differ from locally-used names or published guidebooks

We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of route data obtained from OpenBeta. Use of this data is at your own risk. We reserve the right to remove or correct route data where we become aware of safety-relevant inaccuracies, but we have no obligation to monitor or audit community-contributed content.

Section 8

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any data stored through the Service will be free from loss or corruption, though we take reasonable measures to maintain data integrity and perform regular backups. Planned and unplanned maintenance may result in temporary service interruptions, for which we will not be liable.

Climbing safety disclaimer Rock climbing, bouldering, sport climbing, trad climbing, and all related activities are inherently dangerous and carry a risk of serious injury or death. SendRepeat is a training and logging tool — it is not a substitute for qualified instruction, hands-on coaching, or sound safety judgement developed through experience. Information provided through the Service, including training plans, route data, and session statistics, does not constitute professional coaching or safety advice. We are not responsible for any climbing-related injuries, accidents, or losses arising from your use of or reliance on information provided through the Service.

Section 9

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SendRepeat (including its operator, employees, and contractors) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service. This includes, without limitation, loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or personal injury, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid to SendRepeat in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £50 (fifty pounds sterling).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (iii) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability. If you are a consumer in such a jurisdiction, some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Section 10

Termination

By you

You may close your account and cease using the Service at any time. Account deletion can be initiated from within the app or by contacting hello@sendrepeat.app. Upon deletion we will process the removal of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Termination does not entitle you to any refund if a paid tier has been introduced, except as required by applicable consumer law.

By us

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we determine that you have materially violated these Terms — including engaging in prohibited conduct under Section 4, uploading content that violates Section 5 standards, or abusing the coaching access provisions in Section 6. Where practicable, we will notify you of the reason for termination and provide an opportunity to appeal. In cases of serious abuse, fraud, or conduct that places other users at risk, we may act immediately without notice.

We also reserve the right to terminate or suspend individual features of the Service (rather than your entire account) if misuse of a specific feature is detected.

Service discontinuation

In the event that we decide to discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice to all registered users via email and in-app notification. During that notice period, we will make your data available for export in a machine-readable format at no charge, so that you can retrieve your climbing history before the Service ceases. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure a smooth transition and to maximise the notice period where circumstances allow.

Section 11

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or our practices. For material changes — those that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations — we will provide at least 14 days' advance notice before the new Terms take effect. Notice will be given by emailing registered users and posting a prominent notice within the app.

Non-material changes, such as clarifications of existing provisions, corrections of typographical errors, or improvements to readability, may be made without prior notice. The effective date at the top of this document will always reflect when the current version was last updated.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before they take effect and may delete your account at any time.

Section 12

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Nothing in this clause affects your rights as a consumer under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants you the right to bring legal proceedings in the courts of your place of residence, that right is not affected by the above choice of jurisdiction. We acknowledge that users in Switzerland, the European Union, and the United Kingdom have specific statutory consumer rights that apply regardless of any choice-of-law clause.

We encourage you to contact us in the first instance to resolve any dispute informally. The vast majority of concerns can be addressed directly and quickly through hello@sendrepeat.app.
